You understand the two key differences between wireless channels and wired channels.
You understand the basic building blocks of a wireless communication system.
You understand the role of each block in combatting the challenges in wireless communications.

You know how to derive the physical model of wireless channels using the ray tracing method.
You understand the key features of a wireless channel: small-scaling fading, large-scale fading, Doppler shift, delay spread, coherence distance, coherence time, and coherence bandwidth.
You understand what factors result in these features (e.g., moving transmitter and/or receiver result in Doppler shift, multipath results in delay spread).
You can implement the ray tracing method in Python, and use numerical simulation to study more realistic wireless channels.

You understand the input/output models of wireless channels as finite impulse response (FIR) filters.
You understand the relationship between channel models in continuous-time passband, in continuous-time baseband, and in discrete-time baseband.
You understand how the discrete-time baseband signal is converted to the continuous-time passband signal at the transmit antenna, and how the continuous-time passband signal at the receive antenna is converted back to discrete-time baseband for processing.
You can write codes to implement the channel models based on given parameters.

You understand intuitively why fading degrades the performance.
You know the differences between the error rate versus SNR curve under fading channels and that under AWGN channels.
You understand how to derive the error rate.
